The Brisbane Heat are a professional T20 cricket team. They compete in the Big Bash League and have won titles four times – 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
The team is based in Brisbane and plays their home matches at The Gabba. As one of the most popular teams in the tournament, all their home matches sell out quickly. Furthermore, they host an annual New Year’s Bash event featuring music performances by Peking Duk, Ball Park Music, and KLP.

The history of the team
Brisbane Heat are an Australian cricket team playing in the Big Bash League. As the only team based in Queensland, they enjoy passionate support from their home fans.
Established in 2011, Brisbane City FC is one of the most beloved teams in the Big Blue League (BBL). Every match they play draws large crowds to their stadium for an electric atmosphere.
The Heat had a disappointing fourth season in the BBL, winning only two of their eight matches. These results led to the resignations of coach Stuart Law and captain James Hopes.
The captain
Brisbane Heat is one of the most successful teams in BBL history, having won its inaugural season back in 2012. However, they have never reached a semi-final.
Captain of the team is Australian star wicketkeeper Jimmy Peirson. He has captained Australia in several matches during the 2020 season.
Chris Lynn will return to the 2022-23 Big Bash League as they look for another successful season under his leadership. He’s expected to lead his team for a second consecutive year.

Brisbane Heat boasts an impressive bowling lineup that includes some of the best in the league. Mark Steketee has been a key component in their success so far in BBL10, while Michael Neser is off to a promising start in his BBL career.
Their bowling lineup is completed by Jack Wildermuth, Will Prestwidge and Xavier Bartlett. All these players have been playing in Australia for some time and possess the potential to make an impact on the big stage.

The other players
The Brisbane Heat possess a wealth of individual talent, yet they have yet to make an impact in the Big Bash League.
Their debut season in the BBL saw them finish seventh, but now under new coach Wade Seccombe they hope to turn around their fortunes. With a formidable batting line-up, the Blue Jays will rely on those at the top of the order for continued success throughout the competition.
They have several key players coming into the team, such as Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne who both made it to the Test squad. Other key members include Matt Renshaw, Max Bryant and Nathan McSweeney who will be essential this year.
