The Brisbane weather radar is located at Beenleigh, an isolated hill about 150 meters above sea level, and covers much of the Greater Brisbane region. Its range extends north and west of the city, to as far as Casino, Tenterfield, Stanthorpe, and Karara, and to Tin Can Bay in the south. The range is sufficient to detect rainfall from west to east, south to north, and east to west. The radar is also used to monitor the intensity of rainfall.

The next few days will be very rainy in Brisbane, with up to 50mm of rain expected to fall on Thursday and 60mm on Friday. Temperatures are set to remain in the mid-20s. However, rain is expected to ease off over the weekend. The highest temperature is expected to be around 27C on Saturday, and temperatures are expected to be as warm as 25C on Sunday.
