Brisbane Entry Requirements

If you are traveling internationally, be aware of any entry requirements. Depending on where your country of destination lies, this could include needing a visa or electronic travel authority (ETA).

Fully vaccinated international arrivals do not need to undergo home quarantine; instead, they should present their Queensland International Arrivals Registration approval and undertake a rapid antigen test upon arriving at their destination country.

1. Passport

Are You an EU or ETA Eligible Country? (Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary Italy Iceland Liechtenstein Luxembourg the Netherlands Norway Portugal San Marino Spain Sweden & Switzerland). If this applies to you then your passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months prior to travel to Australia.

2. Visa

All travellers (excluding New Zealanders ) need to secure an ETA or eVisitor visa prior to travelling to Brisbane, making the online application quick and simple. Visitors who plan on staying for longer, the Working Holiday Visa may be an alternative solution. Available only to passport holders from certain countries, this visa permits them to work in Australia for up to a period of 12 months while receiving income.

Finally, it is essential to remember that overstaying your visa can have serious repercussions when travelling to Australia – as such, make sure you leave yourself enough time before your visa runs out to enjoy its sights and sounds!

3. Medical

The murky brown hue of the Brisbane River is due to nutrient-rich water mixing with sediment from nearby floodplains and floodplains, producing murky brown water that contains high concentrations of nutrients. 4. Travel Insurance

Australia does not require travelers to purchase travel insurance, but strongly advises they do so for unexpected medical and trip cancellation costs. Even though Medicare covers some expenses, treatment outside Australia tends to be more costly; so taking out a policy with hospital coverage and cancellation cover would be wise.

Australian cities can be notorious for opportunistic crime, so make sure that your hotel room is locked and any personal items left lying around are kept secure. Also pack a sunsuit and 50+ sunscreen as Australia is notoriously harsh when it comes to sunbathing! Additionally, ensure your policy covers bike-pedestrian trails as well as Brisbane public parks which provide playgrounds, barbeque spaces and hiking paths as well as being prepared for floods or severe storms.

If you are traveling from a safe travel zone country and meet entry requirements, quarantine will not be required upon arrival in Brisbane. However, non-vaccinated individuals will require 14 days of home or government-arranged quarantine (you will receive approval during Queensland international arrival registration to do this), including any conditions they must fulfill.
