The Women’s Tennis Association Upgrades Brisbane International to Premier Event Status
The Brisbane International is one of the premier tournaments on the WTA calendar. It attracts some of the best players in the world to compete for titles and a purse of over $1 million. This year the competition takes place from July 6-9, and fans are invited to attend the matches free of charge.

WTA Premier event
The Women’s Tennis Association has upgraded the Brisbane International to Premier event status. A number of top players will compete at the tournament in Queensland.
For the first time, the Australian Open will also feature a women’s wildcard. Previously, only men’s players were awarded this honour.
