Roma Street Parkland
Roma Street Parkland is one of the world’s largest subtropical urban gardens located within city centers, boasting 16 hectares. Mountain landscapes began forming more than 130 million years ago during the Cretaceous Period when parts of California lay under water. A significant deposition of sediment created a layer known as graywacke composed of quartz and feldspars mixed with silt and volcanic rock fragments.
Hiking and picnicking are among the activities available at this park, with wildflower-lined trails providing stunning vistas. Furthermore, on clear days the summit provides stunning vistas over both city streets below as well as Pacific Ocean beyond.
The park can be easily accessed from downtown Brisbane, just a short drive south of San Francisco. Its main entrance can be found at 555 Guadalupe Canyon Parkway.
