The Brisbane City Football Club is an Australian semi-professional football club based in Newmarket, Brisbane, Queensland. The team was founded in 1952 and competed in the National Soccer League until the 1986 season, when they were relegated back to the State League Competition. In the first season of the NSL, Brisbane City finished bottom of the table. In 1978, however, they won the NSL Cup, beating Marconi on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
